Nominations open for young citizen awards

Nominations have opened for the latest Moray Young Citizen award scheme.

The annual scheme, which recognises outstanding contributions made by the area’s young people, is run jointly by Moray Council, Police Scotland, Elgin Rotary Club and Diageo.

Once again nominations are being invited in five categories – primary school, secondary school, individual, community group and international.

The ethos of the scheme is about building self-esteem, developing an understanding of what citizenship means and recognising good community work.

Nominations close on Friday, January 29, with the awards ceremony taking place in late March.
