Snow is likely to continue in areas south of Moray that has experienced snowfall in recent days, such as Lecht and Cabrach. Routes on the periphery of these areas could be close to freezing. In west Moray there is less risk of rain, so treatment action adjusted accordingly. No adverse conditions forecast in coastal areas.

The rain we're getting is causing the road salt to be washed away and it's effectiveness reduced. This means that the snow that's expected on higher levels will need more treatment.

Temperatures dropping across the area this evening so the teams will be out pre-treating many at risk routes. Hope they get finished in time to celebrate Hogmanay. Back on the road tomorrow morning 6am!
